What is Centennial Council of Neighborhoods |
CenCON is comprised of Homeowner Association representatives in the City of Centennial. Prior to the incorporation of our new city, homeowner associations of unincorporated Arapahoe County belonged to a single umbrella group known as ACCORD. With the incorporation of Centennial, CenCON was spun off from ACCORD to perform the same services for homeowners associations within the boundaries of Centennial. Current CenCON membership represents about 22,000 Centennial homes in about 59 different Homeowner Associations.
CenCON meets monthly to gather important information from the various civic authorities. Your CenCON representative brings this information back to your association for dissemination to your homeowners by means of monthly meetings, newsletters, etc.
Information is presented at each meeting by:
CenCON also reviews development plans for projects both within and affecting the City of Centennial and gives requested critical input as an official referral agency of the Planning & Zoning Department. Our input regarding planned developments is also seriously considered by the Mayor and City Council.
CenCON members actively participate in committees, including:
Meetings are attended by a CenCON representative, elected or appointed by each member association. Meetings are open to the public, but CenCON reserves the right to limit public comment.
Your association's elected or appointed representative accepts two major responsibilities:
CenCON has no legislative authority and is effective only by working cooperatively with city officials as the responsible, collective voice of City of Centennial residents.
In this era of rapid growth and expansion within the City of Centennial, the possibility of poorly planned developments being considered in the vicinity of your neighborhood is greater than it has ever been. I am sure that you agree that it is vital that CenCON's respected voice on development issues not only be maintained, but also become stronger than ever -- it can with your membership and "active input," and your neighborhood's voice will be fully represented!
Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of every month at 6:45 p.m. at the Arapahoe Library Administration Building at 12855 East Adam Aircraft Cir. In the event that the fourth Monday of the month is a holiday (e.g., Memorial Day or Christmas) then the meeting is either cancelled or moved to an alternate day as selected by the membership. Membership dues are only $30.00 per annum.
A link to the map showing the location of the meetings is provided on the Home Page, under the meeting announcement.
